(Undated) -- Our KSEN/ K96 -- Bozeman Trophy Athlete's of The Week were definitely at the top of their game in performances this past week.
For the 1st time this year, we just couldn't find a way to separate our Female Athlete's and so we have Co-Female Athlete's of the Week.  Conrad Sr. Taylor Evans and Cut Bank Sr. Makenna Burke both had amazing weeks in their respective sports.
Evans, a top sprinter in all 4 years of her H.S. career, saved this year's best effort for the Top meet of the year, The Top Cascade Top 8 in Great Falls Tuesday.  Taylor swept the sprints, winning the 100, 200 & 400 meters.  The 400 was especially Sweet with her best time of the year at 1-minute, 6-hundreths of a second.
She also won the 100m (3-way tie) and the 400m in Shelby Saturday and added a 2nd in the 200m and a 4th in the Long Jump at the Top 8 Meet.   She's qualified for State in all three of the sprint events.
Our Co-Athlete of the Week, had an amazing week on the Softball field.  3-sport Athlete Makenna Burke was pounding the ball at the plate with 6-Home runs in 4 games.
In a Cut Bank win over Columbus, Burke had a 2-run HR and a Grand Slam.  In that game she also picked up the win on the mound and struck out 11.   She also got the win against Glasgow with 12 Strikeouts and 2 of the 6 HR's in that game.
We also had a nomination this week for CJI Freshman Brynn Kammerzell who cleared 5'6.5" in the High Jump at the Top 8 meet, breaking the CJI School record and recording the best High Jump in the State, All Class.
Male Athlete of the Week honors go to another 3-sport Athlete from CJI, Fr. Dane Grammar. In his top event, Grammar won the Manhattan Christian event in Bozeman with a throw of 127'5".    He won the Shelby Invitational with a throw of 136'4" and then got even better at the Cascade Top 8 meet with a throw of 143'6" and a 2nd place finish.
The throw in Great Falls qualified him for the State Meet and broke the CJI School record.  He's also making big strides in the Shot put.
We also had a nomination for Cut Bank Sr. Tate Monroe who won medalist honors at both the Belt Invitational and the Glashow Invitational with an 80 at both events.
Congratulations to our KSEN/K96 Bozeman Trophy Athlete's of the Week, Cut Bank Sr. Makenna Burke, Conrad Sr. Taylor Evans, and CJI Freshman Dane Grammar.  The Athlete of the Week is sponsored locally by McDonald's in Cut Bank. McDonald's honors our Athlete's with two free value meals each.
